MASTERPIECE QUALITY ENGLISH DARTBOARD, SIGNED "P.J. THOMAS, CHERTSEY, SURREY", CA 1885-1900:
Extraordinary wooden dartboard with elaborate wire-work to create two consecutive spiraling target areas. To the best of my knowledge, the only one known of its kind. Red, white, gold, black, and Windsor green paint with wonderful crazed varnish surface. Made ca 1885-1900, the board is signed "P.J. Thomas, Regd Design, Chertsey, Surrey" (Chertsey is a town in Surrey).
Condition: Well-used. No restoration. Excellent patination. |
